"...I will send for all the tribes of the north, declares the Lord, and for Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant..." Jeremiah 25:9

Did you catch it?

God calls Nebuchadnezzar, the great king of Babylon, his servant.

Babylon is portrayed throughout the Bible as a depiction of evil and is used by God to bring about discipline to his people.

The people listening to Jeremiah probably thought he was on drugs. How could God declare someone as evil as the Babylonian king to be his servant?

But from the beginning of the Scriptures until the end, God takes what is evil and uses it for his purposes, his glory, and our good.

Sometimes we don't really believe Colossians 1.

Christ is over all--all rulers, all thrones, all dominions, and all authorities. Even evil.
Nebuchadnezzar, the ruler, was created through him and for him.

Even evil is acquiescent in Christ's presence.
